چکیده
Abstract Optical waveguides are the key building block of optical fiber and photonic integrated circuit technology, which can benefit from active manipulation to complement their passive guiding mechanisms. A number emerging applications will require faster nanoscale waveguide circuits that produce stronger light-matter interactions consume less power. Functionalities rely on nonlinear optics particularly attractive in terms femtosecond response times terahertz bandwidth, but typically demand high powers or large footprints when using dielectrics alone. Plasmonic nanostructures have long promised harness metals for truly nanoscale, energy-efficient optics. Early excitement has settled into cautious optimism, recent years been marked by remarkable progress enhancing a functions with plasmonic across several application areas. This work presents an introductory review plasmonics context guided-wave structures, followed comprehensive overview related experiments covering light generation, all-optical signal processing, generation/detection, electro optics, quantum molecular sensing.

متن کاملNonlinear Harmonic Response in Microwave and Photonic Devices, and Waveguides
In the present paper, we have analyzed nonlinear harmonic response in microwave, photonic devices, and waveguides, applications. Based on Frobenius power series expansions, a special software has been cast and applied with very small truncation error (less than 10 -8 ). Four basic sets of nonlinear harmonic response systems have been processed: i) New algorithms for computing twelve Jacobian el...
متن کاملEffective equations for photonic-crystal waveguides and circuits.
We suggest a novel conceptual approach to describing the properties of waveguides and circuits in photonic crystals, based on effective discrete equations that include long-range interaction effects. We demonstrate, through the example of sharp waveguide bends, that our approach is very effective and accurate for the study of bound states and transmission spectra of photonic-crystal circuits an...
